Congressman Denham, A Bi- Partisan Man?

Over the course of the past couple of weeks, the House of Representatives passed Keep Your Health Act of 2013. A bill that allows one to keep their current health plan for the year of 2014, health care plans that would have otherwise been nullified and cancelled due to the provisions in the Affordable Health Care Act, was passes as a bi- partisan bill (CNN). A co- sponsor of the bill, Congressman Jeff Denham, passed the bill with the support of 39 House Democrats (with an unanimous Republican vote in the House) (CNN). An illustration of an ability to muster a bi- partisan bill, Congressman Denham might truly be a politician the American people are looking to lead the country.
As previously stated, Congressman Denham is indeed a vulnerable candidate to be replaced as the Congressional representative for California’s 10th district in 2014 (Kahn). In a district that is split in “allegiance” to Democrats and Republicans, an extremely conservative candidate or liberal candidate has the potential to fall out of favor with voters. However, a candidate who illustrates the ability to work in a bi- partisan manner has the ability to stake his claim in the 10th Congressional district of California. Congressman Denham has shown this ability in recent months.
Will this translate? It remains to be seen. The Republican Party might be looking at a future leader, with Congressman Denham’s potential to work in a bi partisan manner. The country and the American people demand a politician who takes initiative and a proactive role to move the country. The leader of Republican House immigration reform and a  co-sponsor of provision the Affordable Health Care Act, both bi- partisan measures, may signify to the voters in the 10th Congressional District Congressman Denham is in the House of Representatives to stay. The 2014 election will be very interesting.
